I have lived all my life in a small village in South West Devon, in stunning surroundings just a stone's throw away from the Devon / Cornwall border, with a view of Dartmoor in one direction and the River Tamar in the other.
I studied at Plymouth College of Art and Design to be a traditional Sign Writer from 1999 – 2001. I found the course fascinating and very useful, as it allowed me to explore many different aspects in the art of Typography, using lots of different mediums.
I find such enjoyment immortalising a pet, relative or favourite place for someone on canvas. The medium I use is acrylic on canvas, I also do pencil sketches on paper or card. Pet portraits seem to be the most popular, especially dogs, as we all think of our dog as a member of our family.
I am fortunate enough to have animals of my own, so I understand the bond between pet and owner, from dogs and cats to chickens, horses and cattle.
A Pet Portrait can be a gift idea for a loved one as well as a treat for yourself.
